Importance of your Testimony.

Published on 4 July 2025 at 07:00

Let’s start with what a testimony is.

Testimony primarily means a declaration or affirmation that serves as evidence or proof of something.

Why is your testimony so important?

What does God say about your testimony?

How do we share our testimony with purpose?

Your testimony is your journey, your story. It’s your trials and storms. It’s what you have overcome because of the Blood of Jesus that gave you new life.

It’s the walk through your old sinful life that you were living in. The flesh was the lead of your life, your own desires ran your every thought and action..

The bible says this about your old life and our separation from God. In Ephesians 4:22 Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life. Which is corrupted by lust and deception.

Your  testimony isn’t for you and shouldn’t be a prideful story about you and what you overcame but a glorious story shared with others of the goodness of God and what He did and the life He pulled you out of. A life full of misery and pain and of worldly fillers. And of being transformed and Led to a life of restoration and freedom.

Psalms 66:16 says Come and hear all you who fear God and I will declare what he has done for my soul.

Timothy 1:8 says So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. and don’t be ashamed of me,  either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.

He tells us we will suffer but he also tells us how we will be given strength.

He continues in 2 Timothy 1:9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time-to show us his grace through Jesus Christ.

This is how you have a testimony.

So how do we share our testimony with purpose?

We listen to God and when the Holy Spirit leads you share your journey from broken to whole you do just that. You share your once broken self and life and where you were, to the transformed and saved by the blood of Jesus. Which is your new life created through the Holy Spirit.

You share the trials and the old you and you share what God has done in your life. Share the person you are today because of your salvation in Jesus.

It’s important because there is another person and persons who’s struggling and living in the same way you once did. Someone who can relate to your past. Someone who wants the very freedom you have today. They may know Jesus but need to see there not alone there’s others like them.

Or They may not know who God is and needs a savior.

Your Testimony is a gift that can be used by God to save another soul.

Don’t be ashamed of what you have walked through but be humble and embrace your story and the work of God in your life. You’re not that person anymore. You are free in Christ. You are a child of pure royalty and have received the inheritance of Heaven. That’s not to be kept to yourself but shared with the world.

Luke 8:9 says No, Go back to your family and tell them everything God has  done for you, so he went all through the town proclaiming the great things Jesus had done for him.

We are no different today. We are called, appointed and sent out to spread the good news.

The true Joy, Love and Happiness that only comes from one source, Our MERCIFUL God..
